A London bus took a.. turn for the worst.. today when the top of the double-decker collided with a stubborn branch, knocking the roof off.
This image, uploaded to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! before even the BBC had the story hit 800,000 views, spreading across Reddit and the twittersphere. Two people were taken to the hospital for "facial injuries," and two others were treated on the scene.
If only there had been a sign to warn the bus of the potential danger..
Oh. Woops.
It's happened before, too. Twice. In !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and again in !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . And then there was James Bond in Live And Let Die:
You can read the BBC article on today's incident !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Roger Moore has yet to comment on whether or not he was responsible for today's accident.

Gotta say, the build quality on the bus is looking pretty suspect if a branch inflicted that much damage.

It'll have to have been a particularly tough branch, or an unusually creaky bus. I've spent an awful lot of time on identical buses, and they smash right through similar overhanging foliage multiple times every day.

It looks like the roof came completely off before the driver even realized something was wrong and stopped the bus. I don't know how quickly they accelerate away from a stop, but it seems like the noise of tearing metal and shattering glass would be a sign to hit the brake.
